Brandi Rhodes explains why she left the Nightmare Collective and what original plans were for Awesome Kong

Brandi Rhodes made an appearance on Monday’s Wrestling Observer Live where she spoke to Bryan Alvarez and Mike Sempervive about a wide range of topics.

During the interview, she opened up on the Nightmare Collective group that she served as the leader of. She brought up how the concept changed from the original idea of her managing Awesome Kong as there were never plans for a Nightmare Collective.

Instead, the idea was for her to just be the manager of Kong, who wanted to change her look and cut off people’s hair.

Once Kong told her she “wasn’t feeling great” then plans were changed where they added Mel and Dr. Luther. Once again, things didn’t go as originally planned.

“I started to see that the music was not playing how I liked it,” she said. “I didn’t feel it.”

Rhodes thinks that the fans will agree with her on the belief that storylines were going too fast without any explanation. This led to her making changes by making a series of videos explaining the storyline further. They went as far as hiring the actress who played the therapist herself.

She also revealed that her coming to the air of Cody Rhodes last week while getting lashes from MJF was meant as the end of her involvement in the Nightmare Collective. However, she did note that the situation with Mel and Luther is still open.

“I’m good with it now,” she said. “I hope fans are good with it now. And I hope whatever goes on forward from that, they know that this is something that’s an open creative thing.”
