Tony Khan has issued a statement on Brian Kendrick after old footage of Kendrick went vial today. In the footage, Kendrick is seen given controversial takes on Sandy Hook, 9/11, The Holocaust along with other opinions that are peddled by conspiracy theorists.
Kendrick was recently granted his release by WWE and it was announced on Tuesday that he would be on tonight’s AEW Dynamite in a match against Jon Moxley. It’s unclear if Kendrick was signed to a long-term contract but, at least for now, he will not be appearing on AEW programming.
Khan’s statement reads:
“We’ve been made aware of abhorrent & offensive comments made in the past by Brian Kendrick. There’s no room in AEW for the views expressed by Brian. We think it’s best for all that Brian be pulled from tonight’s card as we gather more info. We’ll announce a replacement bout ASAP.”
