It’s looking more apparent that Brian Pillman Jr. has or is expected to sign a full-time deal with AEW.
Pillman has been working more dates with All Elite Wrestling in recent months, mostly on AEW Dark. In addition to his work with AEW, he has been working for MLW and OVW.
Pillman’s most recent match in MLW that has aired thus far came back in November where he lost to MLW Middleweight Champion Myron Reed.
OVW sent out a press release today noting that Pillman was relinquishing the OVW Heavyweight Title due to his growing commitment to AEW. Here’s an excerpt from the presser:
“OVW Heavyweight Champion Brian Pillman Jr, effectively immediately, will be vacating his OVW Heavyweight Championship. Because of his growing relationship with AEW his obligations have grown to a point where he cannot maintain the responsibilities attached to the OVW Heavyweight Championship. While we at OVW are sad to see him go, we are also very happy for Brian Pillman Jr on his continued success with AEW and wish him nothing but the best.”
Typically, when AEW signs a new talent to a full-time deal, they announce it on social media, which hasn’t been done yet. Perhaps, when his status with MLW gets figured out, that will be done by All Elite Wrestling.
