Buddy Murphy to wrestle AEW star

Former WWE star Buddy Murphy is slated to work his first match outside of the WWE banner after he was released by the company due to budget cuts. He will be working Pennsylvania Premiere Wrestling’s Anniversary Show on September 11th at the Signature Training Academy.

One week later, Murphy will also wrestle AEW star and FTW Champion Brian Cage, who announced the news on his Instagram page. The bout will take place on Saturday, September 18 at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia for the Battleground Championship Wrestling promotion.

Tickets are on sale now and range from $25 – $50. Cage wrote the following:

Murphy will become a free agent when his 90-day non-compete clause expires on Tuesday, August 31.
