Cris Cyborg got the chance to work with an AEW wrestler earlier this week.
The current Bellator Women’s Featherweight Champion took to Twitter to note that a female AEW star came to her MMA gym in Huntington Beach, CA on Tuesday morning. Cyborg claims the wrestler challenged her to a closed-door bout.
She wrote, “Had a female @aew wrestler show up to my MMA gym this morning and challenge me to a closed-door match…of course I accepted.”
Cyborg didn’t mention the identity of this wrestler, but Thunder Rosa, who has an MMA background, responded to the tweet with several “eyes” emojis.
In previous years, Cyborg has expressed interest in working with WWE and AEW. When Ronda Rousey was in WWE, Cyborg called to wrestle her since they never got the chance to actually fight.
