Due to the increase in the number of new COVID-19 cases in the city, it was announced today by health officials that a mask mandate has been put in effect beginning this Friday, August 20.
This mandate means that everyone attending Friday’s AEW Rampage at the United Center will be required to wear a mask.
City officials felt that this mandate was necessary because the average number of daily cases surpassing 400 this week. The mandate includes all indoor public settings such as bars, restaurants, and gyms.
The mandate applies to everyone regardless of vaccination status. You can expect more mandates in more cities as the virus continues to spread.
Rampage is expected to be one of the biggest shows in AEW history with what everyone is assuming to be the debut of CM Punk. This would be Punk’s return to pro wrestling on a national stage since he left WWE in 2014.
