John Layfield is expecting big things from the newly announced main event of AEW’s All In: London, even if he admits he does not watch a ton of the promotion.
Speaking on Something to Wrestle, JBL was asked about Kenny Omega defending the AEW World Championship against Will Ospreay at Wembley Stadium. He was candid about his viewing habits but had nothing but praise for the two competitors.
“No disrespect to these two guys, they’re phenomenal performers and incredibly talented people. I just, when I watch wrestling, I just watch WWE,” JBL said, noting that he does keep up with clips and highlights because of his commentary work for AAA.
JBL, who has crossed paths with Ospreay, spoke highly of the British star on a personal level.
“I met Ospreay in a hotel somewhere. Nice, nice guy. Told him I enjoyed what he does, and I was very sincere about that,” JBL said.
For JBL, the pairing is exactly what fans want, and he expects both men to rise to the occasion on the big stage.
“I think these two guys are what people want,” JBL said. “It is a thing to say I want to be in that spot, but all of a sudden, you’re in that spot, and you got to deliver. And some guys do, and some guys don’t. These guys have their entire career. I think the match is going to be fantastic.”
