Jeff Jarrett: “MJF, Ever Since He Got Involved In Anything That Had To Do With Myself, Has Turned To Absolute Sh*t; I Don’t Think He Was Good For My Career On Any Level””

WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett voiced significant frustration with his current AEW trajectory and delivered pointed criticism towards MJF during a candid discussion on his “My World” podcast. Reacting to a clip of a recent AEW Collision promo where Jarrett hinted at issues with Sonjay Dutt, host Conrad Thompson asked what was next. Jarrett confirmed the promo reflected real feelings: “There was a lot of reality in that… lots of shreds of reality.” He expressed disappointment with his current position: “I am super disappointed… that I’ve got myself in this position. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve rethought agreeing on certain levels to certain things.”

Jarrett placed blame on himself as a veteran but also suggested he was “listening to the wrong people,” seemingly referencing Sonjay Dutt initially. However, his sharpest critique was reserved for former AEW World Champion MJF, stemming from their interactions last year. “MJF, ever since he got involved in anything that had to do with myself, has turned to absolute shit,” Jarrett stated bluntly. He recounted warning MJF against “going in the gutter” with their promos: “I said, Hey, man, you’re going to say what you want to say, and if you want to go in the gutter, I don’t want to go there. It’s not good for me… good for you… good for the product. He did that.” Jarrett believes MJF’s actions negatively impacted his own standing.

Jarrett continued his harsh assessment of MJF’s influence: “There’s not one talent that has been… involved with [MJF]… he always leaves everyone worse than when he started… I think he’s toxic, toxic. I think he’s selfish,” Jarrett declared, while still acknowledging his talent (“He’s got a boatload of talent”). “I don’t think he was good for my career on any level. I think he got me off on a wrong track…” Jarrett concluded the MJF discussion by stating, “The MJF situation was a massive, massive, massive mistake on so many levels.”

Despite the frustrations, Jarrett expressed hope for the future, praising stablemates Jay Lethal (“incredible talent”) and Satnam Singh (“truly one in a billion”). He acknowledged needing to reassess his path within the group, potentially taking more leadership. “We’ll see where this thing goes,” he said, adding, “…you can turn things around and get back on track if given the opportunity. So that’s kind of the mindset to get the right opportunity.”

Jarrett offered these candid thoughts on his My World podcast, available weekly on major podcast platforms.
