New Japan Pro Wrestling star KENTA has called for a match against former WWE Champion CM Punk.
It’s been well documented that CM Punk is in talks with AEW regarding a return to wrestling and while it’s not been confirmed that he has signed with them, the promotion made various hints during last week’s Dynamite. They also booked the United Center in Chicago on August 20th for Rampage, which many believe is where he’ll make his promotional debut.
Punk hasn’t wrestled since the 2014 Royal Rumble event as he walked out of WWE the following night.
The former WWE Champion started using the GTS, Go To Sleep, as a finishing maneuver in WWE, which is a move that was popularized by KENTA in Japan.
With Punk potentially returning to the ring and NJPW having a working relationship with AEW, KENTA is calling his shot for a match with a simple yet direct message:
Give me CM Punk
