May 6 AEW Dynamite Results: Darby Allin Demands MJF Put His Hair On The Line For A Title Shot

The May 6, 2026 edition of AEW Dynamite aired live from the North Charleston Coliseum in North Charleston, South Carolina as a special three-hour combined Dynamite and Collision broadcast on TBS and HBO Max. The entire show was dedicated to TBS founder Ted Turner, who died earlier in the day at age 87. The TNT and TBS Championship side plates were redesigned per Tony Khan’s request to feature replicas of the Turner Techwood Mansion studios in tribute. The night also served as a launching pad toward AEW Double Or Nothing on May 24.

Tony Schiavone And Sting Open The Show With A Ted Turner Tribute

The cold open showed a Ted Turner R.I.P. graphic with Tony Schiavone in the ring. Schiavone said Turner believed in pro wrestling and the fans, and that he believed the sport belonged on national television. Schiavone walked through Turner’s history with WCW on TBS and TNT, and how AEW carried that tradition forward.

Sting came out in full gear and face paint without entrance music. Fans chanted “Holy shit!” Sting and Schiavone hugged in the ring. Sting said he and Schiavone both knew Turner well and that he had been part of their lives for four decades. Sting mentioned that top brass at CNN would talk about ending professional wrestling, but Turner stuck up for it. Sting then thanked Tony Khan as the new “all-in billionaire” keeping the tradition alive. A ten-bell salute closed the segment before the regular Dynamite intro hit.

After Bishop Kaun whispered in his ear, Ricochet proposed a Stadium Stampede match at Double Or Nothing, calling back to Jericho creating that match six years ago. Ricochet noted Jericho would have to find four partners for a 5-on-5, and added that the last time Jericho was in a Stadium Stampede, he had to pay people to have his back, and that didn’t work out. Jericho accepted, saying he’d either find friends or face them all alone, then dropped Ricochet with a Judas Effect. Toa Liona stopped a Lionsault attempt. The Hurt Syndicate ran out for the save and chased The Demand off.

Allin again refused unless MJF put something on the line. MJF offered his scarf, then his Dynamite Diamond Ring, then a million dollars. Allin turned all three down, telling MJF his money was no good because Allin used to be homeless. Allin then named what he wanted: MJF’s hair. Allin said they would have a contract signing next week for a Title vs. Hair Match, and if MJF didn’t show, he would never get another rematch.
