Mercedes Mone’s belt collection continues to shrink. The AEW star lost the EWA Women’s Championship to Mila Smidt on Saturday at a BZW x Rixe APOGEE event in France, marking her third championship loss in a row this month.
After the match, Mone and Smidt held up a sign that read “MORE WOMEN IN THE RING!” in a show of unity.
Three Title Losses in March
The EWA title loss is the latest in a string of defeats for Mone on the international independent scene. Last Friday, she lost the CMLL Women’s Championship to Persephone. The following day, Swan defeated Mone to win the BestYa Wrestling Women’s Championship in Italy.
Three titles gone in the span of two weeks.
Away From AEW Since December
Mone has been absent from AEW television since losing the TBS Championship to Willow Nightingale on the final AEW Dynamite of 2025. She declared shortly after that she was taking a break from the company. While remaining off AEW programming, she returned to in-ring action on the international independent circuit at the beginning of March.
During her time away from AEW, Mone had accumulated championships across multiple promotions worldwide. That collection is now rapidly decreasing.
More Title Defenses Ahead
Despite the recent losses, Mone still has titles to defend. RevPro announced that she will defend both the Bodyslam Women’s Championship and the Discovery Wrestling Women’s Championship against Alexxis Falcon at the RevPro High Stakes event on March 21.
Whether those titles survive the month remains to be seen given her current trajectory.
There is no word on when Mone is expected to return to AEW television.
