Mick Foley has reflected on his AEW debut at Double or Nothing 2026, telling his Instagram followers that he is genuinely happy to be part of the company and proud to have contributed.
Foley made his AEW debut on Sunday at Double or Nothing 2026 from Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, NY, where he co-hosted the Zero Hour pre-show alongside Renee Paquette. During the broadcast, Foley had an in-ring segment with MJF that ended with MJF delivering a low blow to Foley after a verbal exchange about MJF’s recent under-three-minute AEW World Championship loss to Darby Allin.
Foley posted his reflection on Instagram. “ALL ELITE. I am so genuinely happy to be part of @AEW, and to have contributed in a small way to such an amazing night of wrestling.”
Foley’s WWE Legends deal expires in June 2026, with the AEW Buy In role having come before the formal end of his WWE arrangement. Tony Khan confirmed on the pre-show media call that Foley has officially signed with AEW for an extended creative deal rather than as a one-off booking.
“Mick Foley is going to be contributing to the AEW broadcast and helping out behind the scenes.”
Khan went deeper after the show during the post-show media scrum, noting the Foley-Paquette pairing as a long-term AEW broadcast fixture and comparing the partnership to the company’s other signature pairings.
“Renee, something I take pride in is pairing up great pairs, whether it’s Sting and Darby Allin or so many other great ones along the way. And I think a great team is going to be you and Mick. You got off to a great start hosting the show tonight with Mick and I’m excited that you’re both going to be here doing it for a long time to come.”
Foley last wrestled in 2012 and has been managing hip and knee replacement issues in the years since. He previously turned down an MJF-pitched six-week retirement program due to those physical limitations.
