MJF Joins The Cast Of Adam Sandler’s ‘Happy Gilmore 2’

Maxwell Jacob Friedman, aka MJF has landed another Hollywood role, this time in a major comedy movie.

The top AEW star has joined the cast of Netflix‘s Happy Gilmore 2, which stars Adam Sandler. Deadline reported the news today. There is no word yet on the sequel’s plot.

PWInsider.com reports that MJF is playing Gordie, one of Sandler’s sons, in the film. The report added that Gilmore’s sons are “all strong kids, tough crazy bastards with New England accents who have inherited their father’s love of hockey. They all live out on their own and work blue-collar jobs.”

In the movie, Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald will reprise their roles as Virginia Venit and Shooter McGavin. Bad Bunny has also joined the cast. Sandler has teased that Kansas City Chiefs’ player Travis Kelce is on board for a cameo.

Production is underway, and Kyle Newacheck is directing from a script by Sandler and Tim Herlihy. Sandler, Herlithy, Jack Giarraputo, and Robert Simonds are producing it.

Dennis Dugan, the director of the original film, Judit Maull, Kevin Grady, David Bausch, and Barry Bernardi are the executive producers.

MJF previously had a role in A24’s “The Iron Claw” movie, where he played Lance Von Erich, and just wrapped the independent comedy “The Floaters,” starring alongside Seth Green and Aya Cash. MJF will also be in “Stranglehold” from Clark Duke alongside Ron Perlman, Jake Lacy, Ashley Benson, and Justin Long.

MJF took time off from AEW following AEW All Out after being attacked by Daniel Garcia.
