AEW’s recently filed Redemption trademark appears to have a destination, and it could fill a notable gap on the company’s 2026 calendar.
According to Andrew Zarian on Friday’s Mat Men Podcast, the AEW Redemption trademark that was filed on April 13 is expected to be the name of a new pay-per-view event. Zarian indicated that July is the most likely landing spot for the show given the current state of AEW’s announced schedule.
AEW has already confirmed dates for Double or Nothing in May, Forbidden Door in June, and All In in August, leaving July as the only open month in that stretch of the calendar. For the past two years, AEW has not run a pay-per-view in either June or July, making this potential addition a meaningful expansion of the annual schedule.
While the possibility exists that Redemption could replace an existing event name rather than serve as an entirely new addition, Zarian indicated that scenario is considered very unlikely. The more probable outcome is that it slots into July as a standalone addition.
If that happens, it would bring AEW to ten pay-per-views per year for the first time in the promotion’s history. The company has steadily expanded its PPV output since launching with just three shows in 2019, growing to four in both 2020 and 2021, five in 2022, eight in 2023, and nine in both 2024 and 2025. With the exception of Revolution in 2020, AEW has consistently skipped January and February on the pay-per-view calendar.
No official announcement from AEW regarding Redemption has been made at this time.
