People In AEW Believe Star Will Re-Sign With The Promotion

Since launching in 2019, AEW has been able to sign and develop a lot of talent who has gone on to become big stars for them or moved on to other promotions, such as WWE.

Daniel Garcia falls into that category. However, his future has been much talked about by fans since he was written off television last month in an angle on Dynamite. This was where MJF laid him out, turning heel moments after Garcia fell short to Will Ospreay for the AEW International Championship.

WWE was reportedly interested in Garcia in 2021, but Garcia decided to go to AEW instead. It’s unclear whether they are still interested in the young AEW star.

Ibou of WrestlePurists reported earlier this week Garcia was written off TV in a way that protects AEW should he not return and sign a new deal. It was later noted by Dave Meltzer Garcia had not signed a new deal with AEW as of last month. Bryan Alvarez also confirmed WrestlePurists’ report.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer and Alvarez noted that those in AEW believe he will stay in AEW.

Alvarez: “I can tell you this: nothing is official. But if people there do believe that Garcia is most likely re-signing.”

Meltzer: “That’s what I’ve been hearing. But until he re-signs, it’s like whatever.”
