Chris Jericho’s absence from Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite has been explained in full, and it turns out he was filming a guest role on the second season of Dexter: Resurrection.
Getty Images photos snapped by Jose Perez and Bauer-Griffin confirm Jericho was on the New York City set of Dexter: Resurrection on April 29, filming a scene with the show’s lead Michael C. Hall. The images show Hall walking up behind Jericho in an alley, surprising him with a weapon, and then dragging him away. The full context of the scene has not been disclosed, but the images suggest Jericho has a guest starring role of some kind in the upcoming second season.
Reports ahead of Dynamite had indicated Jericho would not be at the Virginia broadcast due to a television filming commitment in New York City, though the specific project was not confirmed at that time.
Dexter: Resurrection is a crime drama acting as a sequel to both Dexter and Dexter: New Blood, with Hall reprising his role as Dexter Morgan across all three installments. Other notable cast members in the series include Uma Thurman as Charley Brown, Jack Alcott as Harrison Morgan, and Kadia Saraf as Claudette Wallace. A premiere date for season two has not yet been announced.
Jericho has been building an acting career alongside his wrestling work for a number of years, with the Dexter: Resurrection appearance representing his most high-profile television role to date.
