Thunder Rosa Reflects On The Current State Of Women’s Wrestling, WWE WrestleMania 25

Thunder Rosa joined SoCal Val for an interview at WrestleCon during WrestleMania 42 weekend, breaking down a brutal 16-hour stretch in which she wrestled three matches across three different promotions and offering her thoughts on the current state of women’s wrestling. “I Will Never Do This Again”

Thunder Rosa opened the interview by sharing the wild stretch she had just gone through.

“Absolutely insanity. I had three matches in 16 hours. I will never do this again.”

She walked through each booking.

“Ladies Night Out was the only women’s wrestling show. We had over 400 people there. I was the main event, which was incredibly difficult because I had insomnia the night before. The next day, I had a match at 11 o’clock at World of Lucha with Julia (Julissa Mexa), another Mexicana, which is a very talented woman. And then right after that, I had a match for Texas Wrestling Cartel where I defended my championship with Fallon Grace, WWE ID prospect, very talented young woman too.”

On The Current State Of Women’s Wrestling

Thunder Rosa also shared her thoughts on what the women’s wrestling landscape looks like for newer talent breaking in.

“It’s a great time to be a wrestling fan and a female wrestling fan. But if you’re going to be a wrestler, you have to be prepared to absolutely learn everything. The amount of talent that is coming, things have changed since I started wrestling. Gymnasts, super athletes, they do crazy things that I can’t even imagine myself doing ever.”

Her Favorite WrestleMania Moment

When asked about her favorite WrestleMania memory, Thunder Rosa pointed to her first and only WrestleMania attendance.

“I will say when I went to my first Mania, and the only Mania that I’ve been to was WrestleMania 25 when they had that rumble with the women, and Santino Marella’s sister won.”

Thunder Rosa Plugs Title Match Network And Mission Pro Wrestling

Thunder Rosa closed the interview by encouraging fans to support women’s wrestling through Title Match Network, which carries Mission Pro Wrestling — the promotion she previously ran.

“If you are entitled to watch Title Match Network, they have a lot of women’s matches there. They have Mission Pro Wrestling, one of the promotions that I used to run. But Telly, who’s the owner of Title Match Network, he supports women a lot, so make sure you support it. There’s a lot more shows there. TitleMatchNetwork.com.”
