Rumor Killer On Britt Baker’s AEW Status

Despite recent speculation, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. is not looking to leave All Elite Wrestling. A new report from Fightful Select has provided a significant update on her status, countering previous rumors that she was actively seeking a release from her contract.

The speculation began after Baker shared an inspirational quote on social media about a water bottle’s value changing depending on its location, which some fans interpreted as a comment on her position in AEW. However, sources familiar with the situation told Fightful that the idea of her wanting out of AEW was “news to them,” and they had never heard anything to that effect.

It was also noted that Baker frequently shares content from the page that posted the original quote. Baker herself seemed to poke fun at the rumors, replying to a comment from Natalya on the post by saying, “careful Nattie, the dirtsheets will have a field day.” Sources in AEW that Fightful spoke to also denied the rumors, stating they haven’t been told she wants to leave when they see her at conventions.

The report clarifies that Baker still has well over a year left on her AEW contract, with the possibility of injury time extending it into 2027. It also notes that a planned match between Baker and Serena Deeb late last year did not happen, and while there were internal discussions about bringing Baker back for a prominent match at Double or Nothing, it’s uncertain if those plans ever reached her. Every source Fightful reached out to “vehemently denied” that Baker was actively trying to get out of her AEW contract.
