Free agent wrestling star Saraya (formerly Paige in WWE) recently outlined her plans for the near future and addressed speculation about a potential return to WWE during an interview with Muscle Man Malcolm. Saraya, who finished her run with AEW earlier this year, revealed she intends to step away from active wrestling for a period while preparing for a potential comeback. “If I do wrestle again, I’m gonna take this year to step outside of it,” Saraya explained, indicating 2025 will be focused on recovery and preparation rather than in-ring competition. Crucially, she plans dedicated training to regain her previous form, citing dissatisfaction with her recent performances since returning from a career-threatening neck injury. “I will be going to Natty’s [Natalya Neidhart’s] training school getting some reps under me so then when I do come back, I’m back to being how I wrestled before because I felt like I wasn’t giving it my entire all these past couple of years.”
She elaborated on her self-assessment: “I know that I was frustrated with myself. I know I could be better than that. So I’m gonna go back and, like, relearn my life again.”
Addressing persistent rumors and fan desire for her to return to WWE, where she spent the majority of her career, Saraya was clear about her current status with the company. “It’s nice to know that people care and want me back there in WWE, but I haven’t had a conversation with them,” she stated directly. “I just want people to know that, like. I haven’t spoken to them in any way.”
However, she did not completely close the door on a future reunion, stating, “But if there’s something special on the horizon, I would do it, just depending on a lot of things.”
Saraya expressed deep affection and gratitude towards her former employer. “I love that place. It’s where I grew up. They raised me,” she said of WWE. “They supported me through everything when I should have got fired. They are amazing. So I always have wonderful things to say about them.”
Now enjoying her status as a free agent, Saraya feels unrestricted in expressing her appreciation across the wrestling landscape. “Now that I’m a free agent, I feel comfortable to show my love for everyone, you know,” she commented. “I love AEW. I love WWE. I just had the best wrestling career that I could ask for.”
Looking ahead, Saraya believes her in-ring story isn’t over yet. “But I know that there’s still stuff left in the tank,” she affirmed, “so we’ll see where that ends up.” Her immediate future involves focusing on training and personal development before deciding her next move in the wrestling world.
