The reason AEW pulled talent from WrestleCon

Earlier this month it was announced that All Elite Wrestling (AEW) was pulling several talents from their upcoming WrestleCon appearances.

Those names included Darby Allin and Sammy Guevara. The decision to pull those AEW stars came on February 12. Despite Allin and Guevara being pulled, other stars such as AEW World Champion Chris Jericho, AEW Women’s World Champion Nyla Rose, AEW World Tag Team Champion Kenny Omega, Jon Moxley, Kris Statlander, and Orange Cassidy are still advertised.

WrestleCon noted on Twitter that some talents are still permitted to do autographs and photo ops, but will not be wrestling. Speaking to Wrestling Inc., Joey Janela revealed that AEW talent, such as Allin and Guevara, were pulled because they need to appear at Philadelphia Comic-Con.

“On behalf of AEW, they’ve gotta do Philadelphia Comic-Con. That’s who was requested. If you’re gonna put anyone on a Comic-Con from AEW, I’m gonna put Darby Allin there,” said Janela. “He’s over and we always knew he was gonna be over no matter where he went. He’s not only gifted in the ring but he’s gifted in every aspect. He’s gonna be a huge deal and we already know that. He’s a made man.”
