Thunder Rosa Says She’s Trying to Return as Soon as Possible, Talks Development of AEW Women’s Division

Thunder Rosa recently provided an injury update to NBC Chicago after being on the sidelines for several months.

Rosa relinquished the AEW Women’s World Title in November due to a back injury after missing a few months of action. She returned to the road with AEW to be part of the Spanish commentary team in February. Here are some of the highlights from the interview:

Her recovery:

“It’s going pretty well. Things are going as they are supposed to go. I am super happy that I’ve been pain-free. That’s the most important part. I think it took forever. Everybody’s expecting me to give them news, but I am working out every day trying to get back in the ring as soon as possible and if it’s possible, that’s what I’m trying to do.”

The AEW women’s division:

“I think everybody has been working together collaboratively in a way where anyone can step up to the plate and be a great competitor. I’m happy for Skye Blue. I remember her first working as an extra, and then she got signed in Chicago. That was a very special moment for her, and Dynamite this Wednesday in Washington DC, she’s going to have a great match with Toni Storm [for the Women’s Title]. It’s just like anywhere else as time passes and you’re not there, things are going to keep happening…I think a lot of people are respecting Kris Statlander to come in and take over. It was her time.”
