During an interview with Sports Illustrated, Tony Khan was asked about the possibility of Shane McMahon joining AEW if Shane reached out.
“I’d certainly take the call,” Khan said. “I’m sure he’d be an interesting person to talk to about wrestling. I’m not sure exactly if he would be a fit. I have not heard from him, and I don’t expect to hear from him, but in this business, you never know.”
Khan also talked about how happy he was about Keith Lee’s debut and how well it was received by the fans. Khan also stated that fans should expect to see more of Jay White.
Khan added that getting White was a last-minute deal. White was not finalized until Sunday after Khan realized that he butchered what the “Forbidden Door” meant when he tweeted about his new signing. Khan noted during the interview and on Twitter that he brought White in because he wanted that “Forbidden Door” element in the show.

I didn’t secure @JayWhiteNZ until Sunday. I realized after the fact that Friday night I butchered my own definition of Forbidden Door in hyping tonight. I heard the fans’ feedback, & wanted to ensure that tonight was a special #AEWDynamite for all. Thank you everyone who watched!
