AEW President Tony Khan has relied on wrestlers such as Bryan Danielson, Chris Jericho, and Jon Moxley as locker room leaders following the All Out 2022 incident involving CM Punk, where he ripped countless wrestlers before getting into a brawl with The Elite.
Khan has also relied on others to help behind the scenes to run AEW and ROH, including creative, which Danielson has gravitated towards in recent months.
Danielson suffered a broken arm at the AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door pay-per-view event in June when battling Kazuchika Okada in the main event. He had been helping out with creative leading up to the time of the injury.
While speaking with the Hollywood Reporter, Khan was asked who he would trust to put together an AEW show should he not be able to do so.
Khan said he’s told his father Shad, that he should turn to Danielson should he need to:
“He hasn’t been around as much lately, because he’s been recovering from an injury. But if I got hit by a bus, or if I was ever incapacitated for some reason, the person I told my father that he should turn to is Bryan Danielson.”
