Tony Khan shares why he thinks fans boo Cody Rhodes, what it was like for Moxley to return

Tony Khan appeared on “Busted Open” this afternoon to discuss Cody being booed by some fans, as well as how it feels to have Jon Moxley back.

Tony Khan was asked why he thinks Cody is being booed by some fans:

“I think it depends a lot on the opponent and the situation,” Tony started. “Cody is certainly willing to lean into that role and does a great job of it against a person like Sammy (Guevara), who’s one of the most exciting, young wrestlers out there and the Interim TNT Champion now.”

“I think Cody definitely has leaned into being an aggressive heel in doing some things to help accentuate the match,” he continued.

Tony on Jon Moxley’s return and what it means for AEW:

“To have Jon Moxley back in AEW is so important, but also just to see him made me smile and made me so happy,” Khan shared.

“I really do love Jon and I miss him very much. It was hard not having him. It was emotional in many ways.”

“Certainly I think for the fans, they really missed Jon also, and I think Jon missed wrestling and missed the fans. I think you could see that when he was back out there. He had a great comeback match last Friday on Rampage, and now Jon is back here in AEW, and it’s great having him back on the road with us,” Tony said.

“Things are just really shaping up for a huge 2022 with Mox back, now in January healthier, happier, looking better than ever, and certainly the best he’s ever looked in AEW I think. It bodes really well for us this next year.”
