Adam Cole went down with an ankle injury two weeks ago on AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam special while running to the ring during the World Title match between MJF and Samoa Joe.
It happened once he jumped off the entrance ramp to the floor at ringside and began limping. Following the show, he was on his way to the hospital. Cole and MJF were slated to defend the ROH Tag Team Titles at AEW WrestleDream this Sunday, but Cole revealed on Dynamite this week that he needs surgery. MJF will be going alone and will defend the titles in a handicap match.
While taking questions, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select noted during a Q&A that Cole’s real-life girlfriend, Britt Baker, will also be missing a few weeks of TV while she helps Cole in his recovery from surgery.
“I have been told that Britt will likely not be at TV for a couple of weeks because she’s going to be taking care of Adam Cole, that she had to drive him around, that he was not able to take care of himself.”
