WATCH: Jim Ross questions why people watch WWE NXT live, Taz says WWE is insulting fans’ intelligence

The post-show for Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite on YouTube featuring Jim Ross and Taz was interesting as they sounded off on the competition between AEW and WWE NXT.

It all started around 17 minutes into the live stream when they were talking about the younger talent that AEW has. Ross questioned why anyone watches NXT live instead of just recording it and watching the show later.

“This is going to sound real a**-kissing, but why is there even a choice on Wednesday nights. DVR NXT, watch it later, our s**t’s better. I’m proud of being able to say that, it’s not in defiance, it’s just in reality.”

This led to Taz chiming in where he noted that he doesn’t remember the last time that he watched NXT.

“I don’t remember the last time I even watched their show, that’s no bulls**t. I really don’t give a rats a** about it. I respect the men and women there that are bumping and working. I’m not trying to be a homer…I’m so locked into what we do.

Ross stated that WWE never mentions AEW because they’re arrogant and the king of the mountain. He pointed out how AEW is trying to build their program but he also mentions AEW stars that have WWE backgrounds.

“Here’s us going on Wednesday nights on TNT, and I mention guys all the time who have WWE backgrounds, so f**king what.”

Taz also took a shot at WWE for insulting the intelligence of their audience.

“You will get people on the YouTube comments be like, ‘All there it is again, AEW complaining about WWE,’ no dumb sh**s, what we’re doing is not insulting your intelligence, and we’re acknowledging WWE. They are the ones insulting your intelligence, we bring them up, they’re relevant, we’re relevant.”

Taz added that they’re trying to be transparent when they bring up WWE or the ratings for the fans.
