It’s a very big deal to win New Japan Pro Wrestling’s New Japan Cup. It’s not only a free ticket for a title match but it also etches someone’s name in the history books because it’s not easy to win this amazing tournament. After all, the New Japan CupĀ is single elimination where the G1 Climax is a round-robin style tournament.
Zack Sabre Jr. defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi to win the 2018 New Japan Cup in a match that fans are already calling great and somewhat surprising. But ZSJ displayed some incredible ability and walked away with the win.
In one swoop he also set up a huge title match against Kazuchika Okada for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. It looks like they won’t have much time to prepare for this epic battle either because the match was set for April 1st at Sakura Genesis.
This is certainly going to be a match worth watching because these two could easily blow our minds with what they will do in the ring.
