“Switchblade” Jay White’s future in wrestling just got more interesting as he lost a “Loser leaves Japan” match to Hikuleo at NJPW The New Beginning in Osaka on Saturday morning. White was pinned after taking a chokeslam.
This seemingly wraps up his run with the promotion in Japan, but he still has one more booking with NJPW as he will work AEW’s Eddie Kingston at next Saturday’s Battle in the Valley pay-per-view in San Jose, California.
As previously reported last month, White’s contract is up relatively soon, and he is expected to leave New Japan Pro Wrestling.
People believe in both WWE and AEW that the promotions are interested in signing him, with WWE sources reportedly seeming confident they would land him.
It’s always possible that White and NJPW can reach an agreement on a new deal.
