A former TNA World Champion is now a free agent after his contract with the promotion expired.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp has reported that Rich Swann’s contract with TNA has concluded. Swann had signed a two-year extension in late 2022, which ran until the end of 2024.
Sources indicated that the contract included an additional option year, but TNA did not exercise it. Despite no longer being under contract, Swann was present for both days of the recent TNA television tapings in Orlando.
Swann’s last appearance on TNA programming was in the summer of 2024, after which he voluntarily entered a substance abuse rehabilitation program following a public intoxication arrest. He made his return to in-ring action in October 2024 for Pro Wrestling Revolver and has since worked on several independent shows.
