Jeff Jarrett was thrilled to see TNA reclaim its name, and he had a strong reaction to the idea of the six-sided ring making a comeback.
Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Jarrett made clear he’s a firm believer in the six-sided ring, which became one of TNA’s signature trademarks. Asked about the possibility of its return, his response was immediate. “About damn time,” Jarrett said. “It’s something that I believe in.”
Jarrett also weighed in on the company’s identity over the years, arguing that the shift away from the TNA name muddied the brand. He pointed to the transition to “Impact Wrestling” as a marketing misstep. “You talk about the old adage, confuse them, you lose them, it just went south there,” Jarrett said.
When TNA finally restored its original name in 2024, Jarrett expected the six-sided ring to be right behind it. “My gut told me, bringing the name back, I thought for sure the next thing that would follow would be a six sided ring,” he said.
For Jarrett, the ring was a key part of what made TNA’s 2005-to-2009 stretch so special, alongside the X Division, a surging tag team scene, and the emergence of the Knockouts division built around talents like Awesome Kong and Gail Kim. “Those formative years to me put a real stamp on the industry,” he said.
