Matt Hardy is the latest to weigh in on Tommy Dreamer’s departure from TNA, sharing his reaction on his podcast, The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy.
Dreamer revealed this week on Busted Open Radio that he and TNA had mutually agreed to part ways, ending his run as the company’s head of creative. Hardy, a current TNA star who has worked closely with Dreamer both in the promotion and on the independent scene, offered a measured take on the news.
“It’s interesting, it’s intriguing. I certainly enjoyed working with Tommy,” Hardy said. “I enjoyed working with Tommy all the way back to the House of Hardcore days, whenever he was doing that show.”
Hardy praised Dreamer’s feel for the industry while acknowledging that situations change. “I always thought he had a good pulse on kind of where pro wrestling is and where it’s going, and he stayed pretty current with things, but you know, things change,” he said.
He closed by making clear there were no hard feelings, while expressing curiosity about TNA’s direction going forward. “I got lots of love for Tommy, no doubt about it. I loved working with Tommy, really enjoyable working with Tommy,” Hardy said. “Very interesting to see what happens next now in TNA.”
