TNA Wrestling is reportedly not for sale, with sources pushing back firmly on the recent speculation surrounding the company’s future.
According to PWInsider, multiple sources in both TNA and its parent company, Anthem Sports & Entertainment, have stated that TNA is not currently up for sale and that Anthem has not been seeking a sale. The denials directly counter the chatter that emerged this week, suggesting the promotion could be available.
Anthem sources specifically rejected the reported price tag of $30 to $50 million that had been circulating, characterizing that figure as “undervaluing” TNA as it currently exists. Sources also disputed claims that WWE would hold the right of first refusal to match any offers for the company.
Beyond denying the reports, one source took aim at the motivation behind them, suggesting the timing appeared designed to be “hurting the company” as it heads into Slammiversary this weekend. That same source expressed frustration that a social media account lacking any real track record or following had floated sweeping claims, which were then repeated widely by others simply chasing attention.
The reports come at a busy time for TNA, which presents its Slammiversary pay-per-view on June 28 in Boston.
