W. Morrissey on rumors about his Impact Wrestling status, why he doesn’t want to be in a tag team, 2022 goals

During an interview on the Battleground podcast, W. Morrissey (former WWE star Big Cass) addressed rumors about his Impact Wrestling status, his goals for 2022, and more.

Morrissey said he doesn’t want to go back to being in a tag team:

“I wouldn’t want to go back to tag teams full time. There is somewhere down the line for me and nZo to get back together, but I’m focused on a singles run right now. I think it’s what I’ve always wanted. I think it’s what I’ve always been destined to do, and I need to take advantage of the opportunities now because I had a lot of opportunities that were thrown my way that I wasted. That’s something that I have to go to sleep with at night knowing that.  The opportunity is there for me to succeed as a singles star, and I think it’s going to happen. I think we’re in the process of watching it happen. For me going forward, singles is the way to go because I think for me right now where I’m at mentally, spiritually, and emotionally, I think it’s a way better fit for me to be out there on my own.”

Morrissey’s goal in Impact in 2022:

“My number one goal is to become the face of the company. That’s my goal. I was there last year to come in, slowly build to that goal, and make an impact. My goal for this year is to become the face of the company and be ‘the guy.’ That’s a goal that I think I will achieve. I think it’s something I’m extremely capable of.”

Morrissey’s was asked to address the rumors of his status with Impact Wrestling:

“People out there feel entitled to know everything. I was just watching Tom Brady’s ‘Man in the Arena’ this morning and he talked about that. Everybody feels entitled to know everything going on behind the scenes, what’s going on in people’s personal lives, what’s going on professionally, and how much money people are making. It’s none of their business. So if anybody really hates what I just said, that’s too damn bad. That’s between me, Scott D’Amore, and everybody at Impact, and everybody in my family, and everybody that’s going to be affected by it. In terms of how long I’m there or what I’m making, that’s nobody’s business. That’s just my opinion, but yea, I’m with Impact right now. My goal is to be the face of that company.”
