AEW’s Tony Khan reacts to Monday Night Football killing WWE Raw ratings

WWE is once again feeling the impact of competition from the NFL with Monday Night Football going head-to-head with Monday Night Raw.

As previously noted, Monday’s Raw drew an average of 1.593 million viewers and a 0.45 key demo rating on the USA Network while going up against two NFL games on ABC and ESPN that did monster ratings, which resulted in Raw having its lowest total viewership since July 4th.

AEW President Tony Khan, who is an owner along with his father of the NFL team Jacksonville Jaguars, took to Twitter to react to the ratings by posting a GIF that says, “Are you ready for some football?” This is a line made famous by Hank Williams Jr. when he sang the intro song for ESPN.

This appears to be Khan’s latest shot at WWE because of some of the things the rival company has done as of late, including the alleged contract tampering with AEW talent.

Khan previously lashed out at WWE for running two shows on the same weekend as All Out and said the Northeast region of the United States is the real crown jewel of pro wrestling and not something held in Saudi Arabia, a shot at WWE’s Crown Jewel event in Saudi.
