Andrade El Idolo posted a cryptic message on Twitter after Tony Khan announced that his match was pulled from AEW Rampage. He tweeted, “Respect me and I’ll respect u.”
Andrade did not name anyone specifically but the timing of the tweet seemingly indicates that this is a response to Khan’s decision.
In recent days, Andrade had been sending out tweets to indicate that he would like to leave AEW and go back to WWE. Also, during his interview with Mas Lucha, he said that he can’t talk with Triple H directly but he can if he does it through Charlotte Flair. During the same interview, he talked about a backstage incident with Sammy Guevara. Those comments led to a Twitter spat between them.
The Andrade vs. Preston Vance match that was scheduled for Rampage was a career vs. mask match. The stipulation was that Vance would lose his match if he lost or Andrade would leave AEW if he lost to Vance. Khan announced this evening that the match is off and it will not be The Dark Order vs. Death Triangle for the Trios Titles on Friday night.
There is no official word from AEW on why the original match was pulled from Rampage.
