Dave Bautista will not be inducted into WWE Hall of Fame this year

WWE has started to announce wrestlers for the 2023 Hall of Fame class, but Dave Bautista won’t be one of them.

As exclusively reported on WrestlingNews.co’s Patreon account several weeks ago, which you can subscribe to for just $5, Bautista was tapped to be inducted into the class. However, plans have changed.

Pwinsider.com reports five WWE Hall of Fame members will be in the class this year. So far, Rey Mysterio and The Great Muta have been announced for it, while PWInsider.com also confirmed Stacy Keibler has been confirmed to be another inductee, leading to two other wrestlers being left to go in.

There are no tag teams slated to be inducted. The plan is for Rey Mysterio to be the headliner for the 2023 class.

Bautista was supposed to be inducted in 2020, but when it was nixed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2021 ceremony taking place in the ThunderDome, he opted to wait until fans could be there live so he could properly thank them for their support. He expressed his hope of being inducted a few months ago this year.

The report noted that Bautista would not be part of this year’s class. He is currently filming the second My Spy movie in South Africa, the likely reason why he is not being inducted this year as he wouldn’t be able to be physically in Los Angeles.
