Despite Being Listed On Talent Roster, Paige VanZant Is Not With AEW

Although Paige VanZant hasn’t appeared on AEW programming, she remains on its talent roster.

VanZant signed with AEW in March 2021 after making several appearances on Dynamite. This was after there was interest from WWE in signing her due to the name that she created for herself while in the UFC. She went with All Elite Wrestling because of the atmosphere and cited not wanting to be under an exclusive deal as VanZant makes a lot of money by doing OnlyFans and bare-knuckle fighting.

At AEW, Double Or Nothing in 2022, American Top Team (Scorpio Sky, Ethan Page, and VanZant) took on Sammy Guevara, Tay Conti, and Frankie Kazarian. This marked her in-ring debut and last appearance for AEW.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer was asked about VanZant’s status with the promotion since she’s still on the talent page on AllEliteWrestling.com.

Meltzer: “No. Even though I know she’s on the roster. She’s not with AEW anymore.”

Bryan Alvarez: “What the hell happened? She paid for a long time and then….”

Meltzer: “She decided she didn’t want to be a wrestler. [If] She wanted to be a wrestler, she would still be there.”
