There was a shocking return tonight on WWE NXT.
Ridge Holland was in the ring talking about what happened to Ilja Dragunov. He talked about no malicious intent behind what happened and then the lights went off. A mysterious person in a hoodie appeared and then hit Holland in the back with a steel chair.
The person revealed himself to be Shawn Spears, who finished up with All Elite Wrestling in December. His previous WWE run was from 2013 to 2019 where he wrestled on the NXT brand and then on SmackDown before getting released. During his NXT run, he became one of the most over acts on the roster when fans would chant “10” along with him when he would put his hands up.
Spears’ WWE run started long before NXT. He signed a developmental deal in 2006 and briefly worked on WWE’s ECW brand in 2008 and 2009. This would be his third run with the company.
