IYO SKY Reaches Milestone As WWE Women’s Champion

IYO SKY’s WWE career took off over the last year thanks to her return that saw her be part of a faction with Bayley and Dakota Kai that was introduced at last year’s SummerSlam after the opening bout that saw Bianca Belair successfully retain the Raw Women’s Title over Becky Lynch.

At the time of the formation of the group, she had been sidelined with an injury and in contract talks with WWE as her deal was slated to expire in the same month of SummerSlam, leading to many thinking she was leaning towards leaving unless given a main roster contract.

Since that time, SKY has been a featured star on television with the group where they held the Women’s Tag Team Titles. At this year’s SummerSlam, SKY cashed in her Money in the Bank contract on Belair after a triple threat match that also featured Asuka and Charlotte Flair to win her first WWE Women’s Championship.

SKY has reached the milestone of 100 days as the Women’s Champion. Her most recent title defense was against Belair at Crown Jewel, as the returning Kairi Sane helped SKY retain her title.
