Jazz Doesn’t Know Why WWE Released Her: ‘I Just Pretty Much Carried the Women’s Division for Two Years’

In an exclusive for WrestlingNews.co, Steve Fall interviewed 2-time WWE Women’s Champion Jazz. Jazz is also a Women’s Wrestling Hall of Famer and a former NWA Women’s Champion. We have a couple of highlights below. Scroll down to the bottom of this page to watch the entire interview.

Jazz on how Paul Heyman helped her get hired by WWE:

“At the time, Paul E was doing commentary. I saw Tommy Dreamer at an indie show in Texas. He’s like, ‘I’m going to reach out to Paul E to set something up to get you a dark match.’ That’s what happened. I ended up working with Ivory. Kudos to her. I love her to death because she told me this match is going to be all about you. I’m going to make it look good for you and that’s what she did.”

Jazz on why WWE let her go:

“I just pretty much carried the women’s division for two years. It’s just like writing Roman Reigns off right now and saying, ‘Hey brother, we ain’t got nothing for you. That’s a question that’s been sitting behind you know, just for making me wonder for the last 15 or 20 years like, what and how and why. I don’t believe they can come up with a reason. That’s what they tell people, you know, ‘Creative don’t have anything for you.’ I even told them, ‘Hey, I don’t need creative to tell a story for me. I can get out in the ring and create my own story.'”
