John Cena’s availability to appear on WWE TV is still limited

Coming out of his return to WWE television this past Monday night on Raw to set up his match with United States Champion Austin Theory at WrestleMania Goes Hollywood, there has been speculation regarding how much John Cena will be available for WWE to use on television.

The original belief was that Cena would not appear on WWE TV for most of the build-up for the bout due to the filming schedule of his “Ricky Stanicky” movie. On Monday, he poked fun at these reports after finishing the shoot earlier than expected. That same day, he started filming “Grand Death Lotto.”

This week, it was reported that Cena “will be available for television over the next several weeks.” However, things have changed yet again.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer clarified that Cena won’t be on every Raw and SmackDown episode leading up to WrestleMania as the situation is a case of when Cena is able to appear he will.

“That movie was done on the [March] fourth, that movie was done last weekend, but he’s got another movie he’s starting up on. So his time is still limited. It’s not like he’s going to be on TV every Monday or Friday or anything. When he’s free, he’ll be there,” Meltzer stated.
