Nia Jax reveals filming for 2020 Money in the Bank at WWE HQ was nearly shut down by Connecticut Governor

Nia Jax recently told an interesting story about WWE filming matches for Money in the Bank in 2020 at company headquarters.

The event aired live from the Performance Center in Orlando, FL, but the MITB matches for both the men and women were taped in advance from Titan Towers in Stamford, Connecticut.

Asuka defeated Carmella, Dana Brooke, Lacey Evans, Jax, and Shayna Baszler to win the women’s MITB match while Otis defeated AJ Styles, Aleister Black, Daniel Bryan, King Corbin, and Rey Mysterio to win the men’s match.

While doing a virtual signing hosted by East Coast Autograph Auctions, Jax revealed that the Governor of Connecticut almost shut down filming as at the time, there were restrictions on public gatherings.

“This was from the COVID Money in the Bank. Oh! That was a fun one, the theatrical Money in the Bank that we had. That was so much fun, where we almost got shut down by the Governor of Connecticut. They were knocking at the door, the police were knocking at the door, and somehow, we were able to still shoot it, and get it done!”

Jax returned to WWE this past January as the 30th entrant in the women’s Royal Rumble match but hasn’t appeared for the company since.
