Jon Moxley: ‘AEW is the perfect fit for me, I don’t plan on going anywhere else’

AEW announced last week that Jon Moxley had signed a new five-year contract, which will keep him in the promotion until 2027.

Moxley’s AEW deal had expired, and he worked on a handshake agreement until they finalized the new deal. As previously reported, Moxley had no plans to go back to WWE because he loves AEW.

While speaking with Sports Illustrated, Moxley spoke about his decision to sign a new deal with AEW.

“I don’t plan on going anywhere else,” Moxley says. “It’s the best job in the world, and I’m very lucky to have it. In AEW, all I worry about is wrestling. That’s my focus, and that’s a joy. I love storytelling, I love promos, I love wrestling. I love coming up with ideas for other people, I love learning. For me, it’s a perfect fit.”

In addition to his work with AEW and NJPW, Mxoley also wants to work independent dates.

Moxley stated he wants to constantly improve and put over the loaded AEW talent roster. He said he wants to work with all of them, and now this new deal will give him plenty of time to do that.

“I’m very excited about the future and what could possibly happen. I have no idea what will happen, just like I had no f—ing idea what was going to happen in 2019. So I can’t wait for what’s next.”

He will defend the AEW World Title against Hangman Page on the October 18th edition of Dynamite.
