New World Champion crowned at Impact Wrestling Rebellion PPV, Nick Aldis returns to the company

Impact Wrestling has a new World Champion.

At the Rebellion pay-per-view on Sunday night, Steve Maclin defeated KUSHIDA to win the World Title that was vacated by Josh Alexander due to injury. KUSHIDA almost had the match won with the Hoverboard Lock but Maclin was able to break free and win the match with the KIA finisher.

Maclin demanded for the belt to be given to him by Scott D’Amore. He did that but as D’Amore turned around, he was laid out by Maclin. After that, Nick Aldis, who is back with the company, left the commentary table and confronted Maclin. It has been confirmed that Aldis has signed a deal with the company and it looks like Maclin vs. Aldis will be the next main event program.

This is Maclin’s first title in Impact Wrestling. Earlier, Deonna Purrazzo won the vacated Knockouts Championship.
