Randy Orton is just hours away from making his in-ring return after being on the sidelines for months at tonight’s WWE Survivor Series premium live event by working the main event of the show when he steps into WarGames for the first time.
Timeline
Orton will team Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, Jey Uso, and Cody Rhodes against The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio), Drew McIntyre & JD McDonagh.
The former WWE Champion has been sidelined since last May due to a back injury that resulted in him and Matt Riddle dropping the Raw Tag Team Titles to The Usos where they unified the championships.
Originally, he was supposed to take time off before coming back to feud with his tag team partner. Unfortunately, the injury was worse than expected before taking time off. This nixed WWE’s plans to do an Orton vs. Riddle feud, as Orton would later need back fusion surgery. Riddle was released a few months ago.
The stat
WrestleFeatures pointed out that Orton will extend his streak of working at least one match in WWE for the past 21 years as he is WWE’s current longest-tenured performer on the full-time active roster.
