REPORT: CM Punk willing to work with Kenny Omega, Young Bucks in AEW

Another indication that CM Punk could make an AEW return is out despite his recent rant on Instagram about Jon Moxley’s pitch for a short match on Dynamite before their All Out bout, doing it while not being medically cleared and ripping Dave Meltzer and Chris Jericho.

Before the rant, it was reported that Punk had agreed in principle to come back to the promotion after being suspended due to his part in the All Out brawl with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks.

As previously reported, Punk misses pro wrestling and still has the “wrestling bug,” something backed up by Dax Harwood.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported today that Punk has communicated to AEW that he wants to come back. Punk has outlined numerous scenarios in which he’d return and expressed “a willingness to work with Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks.”

At least as of a few months ago, Omega and Bucks didn’t seem keen on doing that. It’s unclear whether that has changed since then.

Punk has also expressed his willingness to return to work for AEW and stay away from The Elite. Some AEW talent “were of the belief that the rumored upcoming Saturday AEW show could be used to help facilitate that” as they could separate the large roster. Splitting the roster is not confirmed.

Also, Fightful has been told that Punk has been open to working elsewhere, but it’s unclear whether that means within AEW, such as the ROH brand, or perhaps the likes of WWE and NJPW.

Harwood pitched this week the idea of Punk and FTR vs. The Elite for All In at Wembley.
