Rob Van Dam Fires Back at Criticism for Doing WWE Wrong by Appearing on AEW Dynamite

Because there is some tribalism in wrestling, some fans were upset to see WWE Hall of Famer and ECW Original Rob Van Dam appear on AEW television.

Two weeks ago, RVD confronted FTW Champion “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry as fellow former ECW World Heavyweight Champion Jerry Lynn introduced him. RVD walked out with his old ECW theme song “Walk” by Patera, leading to their match for last week being booked.

Perry retained the title after hitting a low blow and sending him head-first into a chair before rolling him up. As previously reported, this was a one-off match for RVD.

RVD addressed criticism of his appearance for the promotion by writing the following on social media:

“Some fans are saying I did WWE wrong by appearing on AEW. I wonder if they would all eat shit if I revealed that I had permission to do it? Or would they just move on to puke out the next meaningless bullshit that comes out of their mouths? Yeah, I figured. I’ll keep it to my self for now.”
