Top TNA Star Files For New Trademarks Amidst Contract Speculation

At a time when there is a lot of speculation that TNA Wrestling could lose out on a top act soon, one notable star has locked down some trademark rights.

Status

The promotion is going through changes with the rebrand and Scott D’Amore being removed as TNA President while Anthony Cicione has replaced him. The promotion is slated to return to PPV with Rebellion from the Palms Casino Resort on April 20.

As previously reported, The Motor City Machine Guns, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, will be working for Smash Wrestling in London, Ontario, on April 21, the same date as the post-Rebellion TV tapings.

This comes at a time when their deals with TNA is believed to be up soon, perhaps as soon as the end of this month. By them not being booked for the TV taping and the PPV, it may indicate a deal is not expected to be reached between the two sides.

Trademarks

Shelley, under his real name of Patrick Kenneth Martin, filed for “MCMG” and “Motor City Machine Guns” on March 19 with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), with the filing made through Michael E. Dockins, who has helped countless wrestlers with their trademarks.

The terms are listed for entertainment and clothing purposes.
