WWE President Nick Khan called for a mandatory meeting on Tuesday following the cuts to its employee force last week.
The cuts were expected for months as people knew there would be departments that both companies already had in place.
Those part of the meeting included Khan, Vince McMahon, and Endeavor head Ari Emanuel. The meeting lasted about 12-15 minutes and was described as a “rah-rah” gathering.
Pwinsider reports, “McMahon was actually using a cane to walk up the stairs to the stage and then to walk to the podium where he spoke.”
The report added that McMahon played up to the employees that “I’m Vince McMahon, damn it!” However, when the joke didn’t go over well, he said, “This is when you are supposed to clap,” before motioning for a response, and later, when they did clap, he joked, “You’re learning.”
McMahon was the only WWE executive not to speak with employees after the meeting, which was filmed with a full-on WWE crew, and all the execs came out from behind an old Raw set.
