WWE has dropped the idea of reuniting a fan favorite stable

Fans will be disappointed to hear that the idea of reuniting The Hurt Business (Bobby Lashley, MVP, Cedric Alexander, and Shelton Benjamin) has been dropped.

The stable found success in the COVID-19 pandemic, but was later split up, a call the group disagreed with and a Vince McMahon decision.

There had been several teases of the group getting back together on WWE television. This past February, it was reported there was talk within WWE regarding the idea of having Carmelo Hayes in the group.

The belief at the time was that Hayes wouldn’t be added to the group until he challenged Bron Breakker for the NXT Title on WrestleMania weekend at NXT Stand & Deliver. At that event, Hayes won the title and will stay in NXT for now.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE has totally dropped the idea of bringing back the group.

“They have started it and totally dropped it. Yeah, I mean, we haven’t seen MVP around. We haven’t seen Cedric or Shelton around, nothing,” Meltzer stated.
